The name Drum Dreams was inspired by a dream Dan had at the age of five.
He was walking home in the dead of night, and had lost his way.
Three figures appeared in the sky, sitting cross-legged
and playing African hand drums.
Their drumming imparted to him the way back home,
and he was grateful and relieved.
Before going inside, he thanked his drummers.
They smiled, and slowly faded away.

Two years later, Dan began his journey as a drummer.
